Happy Anniversary!

One year ago today, this sweet couple was getting married!
I just happen to be the proud Mom and proud Mom-In-Law.
It is hard to believe, that a year has past, and this time last year, we were in full swing with wedding preparations. I thought it might be fun to share some of the wedding memories and a few pictures with all of you. See this was a wedding done on a budget, and we did most of the preparation of decorations and food ourselves, with the help of family and friends. I think I have a list of what to do, and what not to do, what worked, and what probably would have worked better. You see hind sight is always 20-20. Have a blessed week. Jackie

How the time flys!!! My oldest is 18 and I want to stop the clock so bad~
Thats a good idea that you had about me explaining how I changed my blog. As soon as I can get it together I may just do that. I did have one friend that said she is having trouble getting the whole page.. Not sure if its just her or everyone is having this trouble . So when I get the kinks out ...it's on~

I, for one, would LOVE to see your pictures and share all your tips and ideas for a wedding on a budget. Even if I had huge budget (and I don't), weddings just seem to spiral out of control - as if in a competition!! Truly...that is not the point! Beautiful and heart-felt does not have to equal second mortgage!

Congratulations to your daughter and son-in-law!! I could be there sooner than I think!!

Looking forward to hearing your ideas, tips, etc. It is amazing what you learn as you do---and what you learn to not do. That is probably just as important. It is amazing--and not in a good way--what people pay these days for weddings. Ugh. I would rather have money for a house than a "wedding payment" or my parents having that burden.

We did all of the work, food, etc. for our weddings too. There have been three of us so far and I have one sister to go. I'm sure we will do everything for that too. I will back up and say that my dear cousin (a caterer) did all of the food prep for my wedding as our gift. My mom bought the food and she did the work. That was fantastic. My mother in law also made my wedding cake--it was lovely.

Congratulations to your sweet children. I have been married 17 years (oh my). I still remember all the work, but all the lovely-ness too.

Jackie, so glad you came to visit. I see we have things in common. I, too, miss LeAnn. She has made her blog by invitation only so I guess we would need a secret password. Maree is in the middle of moving so when she gets settled I will ask her for the diet parts and where they are. I look forward to getting to know you.Betsy is a sweetheart and I have just loved reading her blog. Later, Trish
