A Mother's Work

Have you ever heard the saying"A Mother's work is never done."? Well that is how I am feeling today, and my children are 20 and 26. But that's O.K. In a sense our work should never be done. I am reminded that now, my work is, to be about praying for them daily. Whether they are 5 or 25 that is what God has called me to do.

How about you, have you prayed for your children today? Jackie

Oh yes, yes, yes. Many times over yes! How grateful I am to have a Heavenly Father who cares and loves me and my children!

Yes, quite often, especially today for some specific needs.

Back in 2000, I started praying for our children through the Psalms. One phrase or verse at a time, one day at a time. I'm now in Psalm 79, and have such comfort in knowing that God honors His Word when we pray it to Him for His children.

Thanks for the reminder. :-)

I try to pray often for my kids. Thanks for the reminder though. I just recently got back to doing regular devotions when I first get up in the morning. That is part of my prayer time now.

Oooh and how! Two of mine are married, but the worrying and loving never stops. I pray for them each and everyday. What an honor it is to be a mother. : )

I still call my mom in the middle of the day if something goes wrong, and I'm 28. I'm afraid she'll never get to 'retire.' :)

Oh, yes! Absolutely! I am so grateful to be blessed with my children! I do worry about them all the time (they're 14 and 11), and sometimes I just have to remind myself to pray and let God take it from there!~Sherri

Hey, Jackie! THanks for visiting my blog today! Come visit anytime!

I'm so proud that you are going to start running again! Woohoo! Have fun with it!

We're off to watch my oldest son run a cross country meet in a few minutes. And, yes, I did pray for my children and my husband today. Thanks for the accountability question.

Blessings,
Susan

Thank you for this reminder! Esp. after they drove me slightly crazy today, prayer seems the last thing on my mind. Our job is never done, but life would not be the same without them. Thanks for using your blog to remind me of this.

Oh, you are so right. Our main job should be praying for them. Thank you for the great reminder.

Hi Jackie,
The Grand Opening is this upcoming Monday (I think), I'm headed back on Sunday and will leave again on Thursday. Not sure what exactly I'm going to be doing while I'm there but I'd sure love to meet you if you happen to come to the store. Just have me paged if I happen not to be in fabric dept. My work name is Jean. Hope to see you!

Praying every day. I think I pray for them as often (or sometimes more) then when they were under our roof.
I am also careful to help in specific ways- especially my 25 year old married one. They take advice nicely:<) when I give it- especially on money issues. I do believe that, if giving in charity, advice and counsel can help lead young marrieds into financial freedom. I wish I could have been open enough with my mom to ask the same questions.

Great Post! My 95 year old grandmother told me several times, that you never stop "mothering" your children and praying for them no matter how old they are! They'll always be your babies! I'm so glad God looks after my children, especially when I can't be there with them! :) ~Rhonda
