Busy Kitchen!

There has not been a kitchen explosion , I promise!

Just a few more preserves being made.
I am off to pick a few more figs this morning so I will have one more double batch. I also have some peaches that I will be working on a little later today.

Yesterday I had some help from my sweet son. We picked more blueberries for the freezer. You can guess what kind of dessert I will be making more of.

Next will be the pears, since they are not quite ready yet. Thank goodness!

I am enjoying all of this, since it has been quite some time since I made large quantities of jellies. This will make great gifts for Christmas with a loaf of homemade bread?

What are you getting ready for Christmas? Hope you will share lots of ideas.

Hope you are having fun in the kitchen!

Jackie

I can't wait for Christmas--it will be the first one in our new house! I've already thought of what to put on the mantle, where the tree will go and the lights that will be hung! I bet is smells wonderful in your house with all those goodies cooking!

I've never done this but it looks like so much fun!! My favorite homemade jelly is muscidine (sp?). My grandmother makes it and it is all we use.

Great! Now I'm in the mood for homemade bread and jam. Too bad that I'm not in the mood to make it.
Yours sounds delicious!

No...I don't teach cake decorating...I wish I did! My friend Vikki (aka My Beautiful Mess) found out about the class and we signed the girls up. My daughter Courtney is really in to cooking & baking and can do almost anything with minimal help. My little guy is doing pretty well at it also. Looks like you're going to have a great day canning!

I've never made homemade jam either AND I've never tasted a fig before, lol, shocking I'm sure! But I have always wanted to make strawberry preserves, jam, whatever it's called...I'm sure there's a difference between them, maybe? Is it difficult to do? We are surrounded by wonderful peach orchards and strawberry farms, seems a shame not to take advantage of that!

I'm so glad you found your way to my blog through Mabel's House! I am really enjoying reading through yours! I haven't made jellies in a very long time! They will make great gifts. I am making gifts with yo-yo's...I'll be posting my first project soon...it should be done today! Thanks again for stopping by and I'm sure to be back to visit you often!
