Thoughts for Thursday

Give God Your Worries
"Who is among you that fears the Lord, let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God"
Isaiah 50:10

Let's get six words clearly fixed in our minds. These six words form the foundation of God's therapeautic process for all worry warts.

WORRY ABOUT NOTHING
PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING

What qualifies as a worry? Anything that drains your tank of joy-something you cannot change, something you are not responsible for, something you are unable to control, something(or someone) that frightens and torments you, agitates you, keeps you awake when you should be asleep.  All of that now needs to be switched from your worry list to your prayer list. Give each worry-one by one-to God...Tell Him you will no longer keep your anxiety to yourself...The more you practice giving your mental burdens to the Lord, the more exciting it gest to see how God will handle the thing that are impossible for you to do anything about.

I found this on a friends desk this week, while filling in for her at work. I do not know the author, but  What a reminder to "cast our cares upon Him"

Hi! again Jackie; just left comment to you on one of your post! But just wanted to say Thanks for letting God speak in to todays post! On mine this morning it was sorta in that worried mode! Kinda unexplainable; but this encouragement was what I needed! You just never know where the Spirit will light on the shoulders that need it! God Bless!

What timing. I just shared my experience regarding my depression, sucidal attempt and not giving over to the Heavenly Father.

He humbled me and with biblical counseling I've realized that I didn't give my troubles over to Him.

Thank you so much for sharing today.

I see you have a wood hydrangea, too! Pretty picture and a powerful reminder of how we "should" live. I wish it were easier to do! I've lost a lot of sleep lately dwelling on things I cannot change. I know it is fruitless, but it is hard to turn it all off. I usually start to pray and before long, I fall asleep. I know that is the peace of God working!

Love that definition of a worry - anything that drains your tank of joy! Great post.

How I needed to read these words tonight! I am full of care - worried - about my daughter's wedding, which is in two weeks. I definitely need to commit the details to the Lord, and trust that He will do the impossible!

Oh, goodness. Worry. Something that God has really been working on weeding out of my thought life. The mind is so powerful. I'm reading a book right now that discusses worry and fear and how it is so detrimental to our Christian walk. It is so much easier to worry than to think positively. But it's definitely been an area in my life in which God has been refining me over the last couple of years.
