Another Plate Wall

OK, here you have it another wall of plates. I have had a stack of these to hang for quite some time to replace a very dated picture that hung over my bed from my country decor days.
I'd really like your input. What would you change about the arrangement to improve it. You see I have a little bit of a perfectionist streak when it comes to projects and I like to walk away at least feeling it was as close to perfect as I could get it. That's why I have to sew and feel like things are very finished. That is also why I am so slow at getting projects done.

Remember the camera quality is very poor. Which leads me to another question , when you comment today would you please be so kind to tell me what kind of camera you are using. I am trying to figure out what would be the best camera for me to purchase, that would give me a better quality picture, but stay in a practical price range for me.
I hope to have more pictures of the house coming as I slowly complete some projects, but right now the neighborhood yard sale will be taking more time it is only 14 days away.
Have a wonderful ,relaxing, blessed weekend. Jackie

Jackie,

I think they look perfect the way they are almost framed by your beautiful bedposts. And I think the white is striking with the blue and white bedding.

I love the plates, but I think hanging them closer together would make them look even better. Cluster them closer together so there is less wall showing between them.

Oh and I have a Canon Rebel xti. I love it and usually get pretty good pictures with it...so ignore the horrible pictures I took yesterday of my new mistreatments--I had the camera on the wrong setting.

I love your plates. I have just started going to yard sales because of blogging but have yet to find any. As far as the way they are displayed, I would check over at Bless Our Nest. I know she has some over her bed and it might give you and idea of if it is similar to hers. I'm no expert on that. Hope I can find some and give it a try myself. Twin2

We have had great experience with several Canons in our family. We have been impressed with their quality (different members of our families have chosen different models based on their interests) and you can just watch for sales! (hint: check Consumer Reports before you buy)

Oh, those look soooo pretty. I want to do that also when we get a new bed someday. I have been on the hunt for white plates for my china cabinet and that project but haven't come upon any yet.

I think it looks great, but I tend to agree with Sarah...hanging them closer together will have more of an impact.
I just got a Lumix camera not too long ago, and I love it! I mostly love the 10x zoom lens and it's small and portable. Easy to recharge too!

I think your plates look great...however I certainly am no expert. My camera is a Canon Power Shot A590. I bought it at Best Buy when I was in Savannah..my other camera died. This one wasn't real expensive and it isn't too complicated for me!! I'm sure there are some that are much better but I have been pleased with mine.

I love a good white plate collection and yours looks beautiful hanging on the wall.
I have a cannon powershot camera. I still need to figure out how to really use all the options.

I think the plated look very charming with the bedding. It's making me want to give it a try...as for my camera, I have a Nikon D40 and I LOVE it!

Um, I'm decorater challenged, so I don't think I'd be a help.

As to cameras, I LOVE my Kodak Easy Share DX6490. You can look at some of the pics on my blog to get an idea of it's performance. I'm not saying it's the best out there, just that it's what I have and I really like it. I especially like it's 10x optical zoom feature. Don't pay attention to the "digital zoom" if zoom is a priority feature for you; it's the optical zoom that counts.

Primarily, I posted today to tell you I baked your Chocolate Chip Poundcake this weekend. I have visiting family and the cake has been wiped out! It was a big hit (delicious!), and I wanted to thank you for sharing that recipe last month. :-)

Jackie,

I think they look great, but an easy way to try different arrangements without dealing with the nails would be to take a picture of the wall with no plates, then take a picture (from the exact same angle and distance away) with all the plates.

Then print out both pictures on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper. Cut the plates out and figure out arrangements on the pic of just the wall.

Dawn

Canon PowerShotA540 is what I use, but I'll be upgrading soon, so I'll be asking the same question you are. Can't wait to see what you get.

Followed your link off the Fall Nesting party. Like the way you have made a feature out of plates, that is really quite stunning.
